  Notes	One family history states that George W. Bassett came to St. Joseph County, Indiana in 1833 with his parents. Another source lists him as a possible son of Allen Bassett (#21B), but he does not show in the 1840 census for Allen and he does not show in the Allen Bassett family bible. He may be related to the Alexander Bassett who was in Elkhart County, Indiana at an early date. Alexander did have a son named George. ***** George W. Bassett was born 7 Nov 1823 possibly in Cayuga County, New York. He died 3 Apr 1902 in Warren Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana. He married Dorcas Taylor on 21 Sep 1847 in St. Joseph County, Indiana. She was born 10 Jul 1830 in Ohio. She died 6 Feb 1907 in Warren Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana. They are both buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. George W. came Indiana with his parents at the age of ten in 1833.
