He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Bassett, and by six children, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parrish Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. E. Walter Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Bassett will be placed in the church at noon on Wednesday. J. Leroy Charity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
