Betty Halsey
Betty Lee (Salmons) Halsey, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Betty was born on July 27, 1937, in Callaway County, Mo., the daughter of James and Sallie Salmons, who preceded her in death in 2002.
She was married in Fulton, Mo. on November 10, 1955 to Bruce Boyd Halsey, who preceded her in death in 2017.
She loved Jesus and was a faithful member of the Church of God Holiness. She was also a member of the Lion's Club for several years. Betty was a sweet and gentle person. She was very talented painter, enjoyed quilting and her family will enjoy her beautiful paintings for many generations to come. She was a long-time employee of Fulton State Hospital Pharmacy, retiring in 1992.
Survivors include: one daughter, Karen Walker (Don) of Fulton, Mo.; four grandchildren, Karrena Carter of Fulton, Mo., Tonya Day (James) of New Florence, Mo., Abe Walker of Fulton, Mo. and Clifton Walker (Uri Ane) of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Mary Martin, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Boyd Bruce Halsey in 1983 and one sister, Jane Cameron in 2020.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Debo Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. ? 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Travis Sayler officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, Mo.
