On Their 50Th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Moses Bassett Celebrate Golden Wedding
Many Guests Extend Best Wishes to the Bride and Groom
Of a Half Century Ago.
Fifty years ago the 6th of August Miss Mary Wood became the bride of Moses Bassett. This event was commemorated Saturday at Felts Mills and children, grandchildren and relatives to the number of 31 assembled to do honor to the occasion.
An elaborate banquet was served at 3 p.m. after which an address was delivered by Dr. E.A. wood of Syracuse, a nephew.
They were the recipients of many beautiful presents befitting the occasion. Among the presents were five $5 gold pieces from the five children.
The house and the tables were beautifully decorated with palms, sunflowers, golden rods and ferns.
Dr. E.A. Wood presented the presents with a few appropriate remarks.
Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. M.J. McAndrews, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Denney, Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Bassett, Frank Bassett, Fred Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. Zelotus Wood of Watertown, Mrs. Levi Wood, Miss Margaret Higman, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Gavin, Miss Eva Galvin, Earl Galvin, Baby Roy Galvin Nellie Galvin, Miss Tina Lockwood, Carthage; Mrs. Carl Bateman, Miss Anna Reggles, Lowville; E.A. Wood, Miss Viola Wood, Syracuse; Mrs. Julia Bassett, Rockville Centre, L.I.
The bride?s cake was voted to be superior to any made 50 years ago. The occasion was one of the those events that will linger long in the memory of all who were present, and many were the wishes of happiness for many years to come extended to Mr. and Mrs. Bassett on this the 50th anniversary of their marriage.

Felts Mill Couple Wedded 62 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Moses Bassett Observe Anniversary
Both Still Hale And Hearty
Felts Mills, Aug. 9 – Mr. and Mrs. Moses Bassett quietly observed their sixty-second wedding anniversary Monday. Mrs. Bassett is able to do light housework and can read without the use of glasses. Mr. Bassett works regularly in his garden and shop and many days takes long walks. Both are well at present.
