Visitation is 9 a.m. Monday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home until services there at 11 with Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial is in Hollywood Cemetery. He was born March 25, 1943, to Bennett W. Bass Sr. and Minnie D. Bass Boyd. Mr. Bass was a member of Central Baptist Church and a devoted family man who loved his children and grandchildren. He was retired from the railroad, where he served as a clerk for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his spouse, Tommye O'Neal Bass; a son, Neal Bass and his spouse Eva of McComb; a daughter, Robin Spring and her spouse Warren of McComb; a brother, Gerry Bass and his spouse Brenda of McComb; two sisters, Sherry Fortenberry and her spouse M.L. of Magnolia, and Ginger Kavanay of Lake Charles, La. formerly of McComb; four grandchildren, Branden Edwards, Collin Spring, Camryn Spring and Emma Bass; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Thomas Rose, Jim Causey, Gerald Fitzgerald, Doug Trovato, M.L. Fortenberry and Hugh Stringer.
