      Orbie R. Bass, 71, born Jacksonville, Texas, February 28, 1909, passed away in Conroe, July 2, 1980. Mr. Bass was a member of the Conroe Masonic Lodge No. 748 AF & M. member of the Houston Scottish Rite Bodies and the York Rite Bodies, a member of the chapter and council, a member of the Arabia Temple of Houston, a member of the Greeters Club of the Arabia Temple, a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 710 and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of usual remembrances family requests donations be made to the Shriners Crippled Children?s Hospital. Survivors Wife, Vivian Bass of Conroe; two sons, Russell W. Bass of Michigan and Lawrence Bass of Fort Wayne, Indiana, one brother, Kenneth Bass of Houston. Services will be held in the Metcalf Chapel of the Pines on Monday, July 7, 1980 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Kenneth Snipes officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery. Graveside services conducted under the auspices of the Conroe Masonic Lodge No. 1748 AF & M. Metcalf Funeral Directors, Conroe, 756-3311.
