Loren H. (Tiny) Lauzon, 79, died May 16, 2002, at the Prescott Veterans Hospital.

Mr. Lauzon was born at the Grand Canyon to Hubert and Edith (Bass) Lauzon. He received his education at the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff High School and the Wasatch Academy in Utah.

Tiny served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II. He resided in Wickenburg where he owned and operated the La Siesta Service Station for 35 years, before retiring to Prescott Valley.

The Bass/Lauzon family is noted in the Northern Arizona Historical Society as pioneers and homesteaders in the Grand Canyon area. Tiny was most proud to be known as the last child born in the "Box Car," which served as the medical clinic for the Grand Canyon.

His parents and his first wife, Harriet, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.

His wife Shirley of Prescott Valley, survives him. His son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah, and grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Rebecca and Leah, all of Flagstaff, also survive him.

Surviving step-daughters and sons-in-laws are Sharon and Craig Lund of Colorado, Laura and Eddie Nasser of Wickenburg and Debbie and Bob Mead of Nevada, and seven step-grandchildren and eight great step-grandchildren. Also surviving are an aunt, Lenore Bass of Wickenburg, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Arizona.

Memorial services will be held at the Shrine of Ages at the Grand Canyon at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice unit of the VA Hospital in Prescott, 500 Highway 89 North, Prescott, AZ 86313.
