Mrs. Joanna Bass

Rocky Mount, Dec. 2.-Mrs. Joanna Turner Bass, 68, was buried in a local cemetery late Sunday afternoon after rites at the home in Oak Level community near here. Dr. J.W. Kincheloe, local Baptist minister, and Rev. Guy Moore, Oak Level pastor, officiated.
Mrs. Bass had been ill for several months and her death was not unexpected. She succumbed at home Saturday night.
She was the daughter of the late Josephine Walker Turner and John Turner, of Nash county, and had long been a member of the Missionary Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband, Embro Bass, and the following children; Mrs. Thomas E. Parker, gates; Lonnie and Ollie Bass, local merchants; two sisters, Mrs. Bob Matthews and Mrs. John Bass, near Spring Hope; and three brothers, Johnnie Turner, of the same section; J.M. Turner, Nashville; and B.S. Turner, of Henderson.
