He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Joe Bass; and parents, Garnett and Zenobia Hayes Bass. He is survived by his wife, Rita Callahan Bass; children, Darlene (Damon) Hill, Angie Monchilovich, Paul Mason and Bill (Laura) Mason; sister, Mary Freeman; brothers, Steve (Becky) Bass and Gene (Anita) Bass; daughter-in-law, Melanie Bass; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home.
