Jesse Benjamin Bass
Jesse Benjamin Bass Sr., age 73, of Posey Hollow, died Sunday, June 14th, 2026. He was born on January 17, 1953, to Roy Bass Jr. and Eula Mae (Dilbeck) Bass in Longview, Texas. JB met the love of his life, Debbie Wilhite, and married her, January 17, 1975. JB was a true believer and a child of God; his faith was strong and it never faltered once. He was a member of the Union Grove Church for over 35 years where he taught Sunday school, pastored, and sang many beautiful songs for Jesus. He also spent several years at the First Assembly of Waldron, AR. teaching Wednesday night services. JB loved his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing music and writing and singing songs for the Lord. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed raising hunting dogs and telling stories about all of his hunting adventures. He was also a very talented woodworker and mechanic.
JB, later in life, met his friend and fiancé Denice Wilson. They love to go to church, yard sale, go out to eat, and hit the thrift stores together. She made the last 3 ˝ years of his life special. They greatly enjoyed frying fish for Mondell and Esther Wagner.
JB was a loving husband, father, brother, Papaw, uncle and ??friend and will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, of the home, for 40 years Debra Kay (Wilhite) Bass; his brother, LeRoy Bass; his sister, Joanne Steele; his brother-in-law, Gilbert Meredith; his nephew, Jared Meredith; his niece, Cheryl Flynn.
Survivors include his three sons and daughters in law, Benji and Kim Bass of Mena, Tim Bass and Sarina of Yocana, and Josh and Jeannie Bass of Posey Hollow; three brothers and sisters in law, Daniel and Teresa Bass of Parks, Johnny and Glenda of Parks, and Samuel Bass of Ozark; two sisters and brother in law Kathy and Joseph Rowland of Sims, and Amanda Bass of Parks; four grandchildren, J.J. Bass of Posey Hollow, Miya Dehart of Mena, Brendon Catlett and wife Ivy, of Pocola, and Landri Bass of Mena; one great grandchild, Lynndon Catlett of Pocola; his special friend and fiancé Denice Wilson of Waldron; sister in law, Mary Bass; brother in law, Ron Steele; several nieces and nephews, aunts uncles and cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside, Lord willing, services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at the Rock Springs Cemetery at Posey Hollow with Brother Tony Rocha and Brother Donnie Wagner officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Entrusted to Beasley Wood Funeral Home in Mena.
Pallbearers will be J.J. Bass, Brendon Catlett, Reese Roshto, Allen Brumbelow, Isaac Bass, Marcus Bass, Aaron Meredith, Miya Dehart, and Landri Bass.
Honorary Pallbearers: all of his nephews, Daniel Wade, Michael Dilbeck, Kenneth Cosey, Steve Bass.
