John Michael Critchfield
John Michael Critchfield, 68, of Akron passed away July 14, 2021 at home unexpectedly following complications from COPD. He was born January 14, 1953 in Barberton, the son of the late Earl R. Critchfield and Marcella Bassett Snyder (Ronald). On May 10th, 1975, he married Debbie Critchfield. Together they shared 46 years of marriage. John had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed it. He always was putting a smile on others' faces with his jokes or entertaining stories. John will forever be missed but never forgotten. He was preceded in death by his sister Anna and his brother Earl. He is survived by his best friend and love of his life wife Debbie Critchfield, their two children Sean (Nina) Critchfield of Houston, Texas and Kelli (William) Critchfield of Akron. John loved his kids and grandchildren more than anything. He found his true calling the day he became a grandfather, known as "Papa". He had a special bond with Madeline, Peyton, Kaia, Olivia Augustus, Hazel, and Lillian Critchfield. He is also survived by his sisters Karen Snyder, Phyllis Brownlee, and Marlene Critchfield; and his brothers Roger Critchfield (Linda), Jeff Snyder, and Ronald Snyder; brothers-in-law David Pavlin (Russell), Brian Pavlin (Stacie); sisters-in-law Kim Fifer (Greg), Denise Breiding (Tim); and many nieces and nephews. Mass to be held Tuesday August 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Sebastians Church 476 Mull Avenue followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
