  Notes	Albuquerque Journal, New Mexico, Tuesday, 13 January 1987 Hugh L. Bass BASS ? Hugh L. Bass, M.D., age 80, died Saturday at a local hospital after a short illness. Dr. Bass was born in Elizabethtown to a pioneer New Mexico family. Elizabethtown was named after his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Moore. He practiced medicine in Albuquerque since 1936. A third generation physician, his father, Clarence R. Bass, practiced in Cimarron for over 30 years, after coming west from Kentucky in 1903. His grandfather, Samuel R. Bass, M.D., practiced in Kentucky. In addition to the practice of medicine, he was well known locally for his love of fast cars. He is survivd by his wife, Esther Valeria Bass of Albuquerque; his son, Clarence R. Bass, and his wife, Carol of Albuquerque; his daughter Mary Phyllis McFerrin and husband, Robert of Beavercreek, OH; his three grandchildren, Matt Bass, Tyler Winner, and Tylene Ruckstuhl; and his great-granddaughter, Rebkah Winner. Casket bearers will be Don Eakin, Lawrence Schmid, Matt Bass, Tal Neal, Mike Malouff, Tyler Winner, and Bill Gallagher. Services will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Burial will be Thursday morning at 11:30 in Fairmount Cemetery, Raon, NM.
