- Mrs. Elizabeth Bassett
Mrs. Elizabeth Bassett, widow of the late John W. Bassett, Sr., died at her home at the corner of Race and Cemetery avenue last night about eight o'clock, aged seventy-eight years last October. She had been ill for some little time with a complication of diseases and Saturday sustained a fall which hastened the end.
She is survived by seven children, William Bassett, of Dune, Louisiana, Professor Leonard Bassett of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Roland Bassett of Cambridge; Mrs. Hampton LeCompte, Mrs. George H. Twilley, Mrs. Martin Wright and Mrs. Herbert Goslin, all of this city. She is also survived by thirty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
