Patricia L. Bassett
1928 ? 2025
Mrs. Patricia L. Bassett, 96, of Pittsfield, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, on April 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Bentley and L.
Mildred Wilner LeBarron, and sister of the late Bentley D. LeBarron.
Patricia met the love of her life, Winton (Win) Bassett, while working as a secretary at General Electric. They were married in 1947 and began their family.
Pat focused her attention on raising their five daughters.
In later years, Pat enjoyed working for Lenox Memorial High School as secretary to the librarian.
During 17 years in Lenox, Pat and Win were avid square dancers. They were active members of Church On The Hill.
They retired to Florida where they loved to golf.
Activities with close friends included weekly card games. Pat returned to Pittsfield in 2005, after the death of her beloved husband of 56 years. Life was never the same without her Win, but she enjoyed her ever growing family and her close friends.
She was well known for the dozens of cookies she made weekly.
Her great grandkids still laugh about her dishwasher that never saw a dirty dish but instead stored her baking ingredients.
Well into her 90's, she looked forward to every Wednesday when she would gather with dear friends for lunch and a game of cards.
She supplied the cookies, of course!
Pat is loved and survived by five daughters: Ellen Bassett, Janice Sullivan, Lynn Powers (Daniel), Beth Danker (Mark), and Tracy Brooks (George) and her nephew Del LeBarron (Ann). Pat also leaves 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral Notice: A service will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:30 at the Martin Memorial Chapel at Pittsfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's memory can be made to Live and Let Live Farm's Rescue and Sanctuary in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
