  Notes	The following is from W.H. Bassett. The back of the marriage certificate for Charles and Selena is endorsed "Entered in Army Book 359 page 181 3/Northampton Regiment" and stamped "Infantry Record Office Warley 17 Nov 1914". On 21 Oct 1886 he enlisted in the 1st Battalion Northampton Regiment No. 1867. In 1887 based in Aldershot. He was a private in 1888-1889. In 1892 his regiment went to India. He left the service between 1893-4 as a coulour sergeant and went on the reserve list. He re-enlisted 28 Sep 1914 with 3/Northampton Regiment No. 10775 and was discharged 27 Jul 1916 as "no longer physically fit for war duty".
