Albert H. Bessette
FALL RIVER – Albert H. Bessette, 83, of North Main Street, formerly of Hamlet Street, died Monday, April 3, 2000 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Rose (Beaulieu) Bessette.
Born in Fall River, he was a lifelong resident of the city, and the son of the late Philias and Delphine (Raymond) Bessette.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Bessette was employed at the naval base in Newport, R.I. for 31 years, and then by Alpert Brothers for five years.
He was a member and past faithful navigator of the Knights of Columbus Council 86, and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Anne Parish.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. William (Irene) Joncas of Fall River; and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bessette was also the brother-in-law of the late Alfred and Mary Beaulieu.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River, with a funeral Mass in St. Anne Church, South Main Street, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

Albert H. Bessette
ALBERT H. BESSETTE, 83, of North Main Street, formerly of Hamlet Street, a retired employee of the former Newport Navy Base, died yesterday at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Rose (Beaulieu) Bessette. They were married for 56 years. A lifelong Fall River resident, he was the son of the late Philias and Delphine (Raymond) Bessette.
Mr. Bessette was employed at the navy base for 31 years until he retired. He had also worked for Albert Bros. for five years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member and past faithful navigator of Council 86, Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Anne Parish.
Besides his wife, he leaves a sister-in-law, Irene Joncas of Fall River, and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., with a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Anne Church, South Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
