She was the daughter of Truman and Henrietta Adams, who were pioneer residents of Liverpool,. She was 3 years old when Syracuse was incorporated as a village, and lived to see it grow from a rival of her native village to a city of 38,000.
She was married to George Bassett, September 10, 1849. She is survived by one son, Henry L. Bassett of Liverpool; three grandchildren, George A. Bassett of Waterloo, Fred N. Bassett of St. Louis and Miss Wilma Bassett of Liverpool, and one nephew, Seymour Eble of St. Louis.
