BUTLER ? James "J. B." Bassett, 63, of Butler, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

James ?J. B.? Bassett, age 63, of Butler passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Bassett was born on November 2, 1953 in Hicksville, Ohio to Basil and Alice (Winters) Bassett.
He married Joy Smyth on May 4, 1974 in Butler. She resides in Butler.
Mr. Bassett worked for Vulcraft in St. Joe for 35 years retiring in 2009.
He was a member of the Butler Eagles and the Hamilton Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed going to auto races and enjoyed following the Burkett-Nester Racing Team.

His wife; Joy Bassett of Butler.
Daughter; Jennifer Bassett of Hamilton.
Son; John Bassett of Hamilton.
Sister and brother-in-law; Carol and Jerry Gambrell of Walbridge, Ohio.
Brother and sister-in-law; Duane and Sheila Bassett of Hicksville, Ohio.
Sister and brother-in-law; Janice and John Campbell of Fort Wayne.
Brother and sister-in-law; Dave and Michelle Bassett of Hicksville, Ohio.
Sister-in-law; Della Bassett of Hicksville, Ohio.
Many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother; Larry Bassett.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Center Street in Waterloo.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo.
Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Rick Stiver.
