Age on death certificate shows 84 yrs, 6 mo, 26 ds which would go back to 1835 Buried Oak cemetery in Nuckolls Co., Nebraska E-mail, July 2011: Hi, I Just read your entry on the Internet about William Bassett and Margaret McQuiddy. I am descended from both daughters--Sarah and Harriet. Sarah's son, John Nicholson married Sarah Glaze. Their oldest girl, Mary Jane, married Harriet's oldest son, George Washington Wade. John Nicholson and G. W. Wade families eventually made it to Nuckollls County Neb. where my mother was born--then to Kansas City area where I now live. Several years ago my husband and I visited the Bassett and Nicholson graves on the farm near Cross Plains, IN. It was a thrill believe me!! We obtained addresses of others who had visited the place, contacted them, and learned a lot more. One was Frank Bassett from Thomas Bassett's Line. We eventually visited him in Seattle, wrote letters etc. He eventually published a book mostly about his branch but he included some of ours. I have been fascinated by Wm.'s story. My daughter and I joined our DAR chapter through him. One of my son's and his son belong to SAR . Thanks for sharing all that information of which I knew a lot but not all of it. My daughter and I plan to go thru Versailles and Cross Plains, IN this August on our way to Bristol, VA. Now tell me about you and your line.
