B. Townsley Died Here Early Today
Boyd L. Townsley, a resident of Carlsbad for the past 35 years, died early today at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Fox and Lake Church of Christ, with O.J. Tabor, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Robinson, Tommie Bass, Clem Bass, Ronnie Bass and Connie Coalson. All friends will be considered as honorary pallbearers.
Townsley was born Oct. 10, 1906, at Oran, Texas. He moved to Carlsbad in 1925, and was married July 14, 1937, at White's City.
He was employed from 1942 until 1949 at International Minerals & Chemical Corp., and had been employed 12 years at White's City since coming to Carlsbad. In the past few months, prior to his illness, he was employed at the North Y Chevron Station.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Boyd Townsley, of the family residence, 1027 North Thomas; and one son, Everett Townsley, Carlsbad; one brother Will Edd Townsley, Athens, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. John Stamp, Carlsbad; Mrs. Albert Kinser, Abilene, Texas, and Mrs. Lester Wright, Houston, Texas; and two grandchildren.
