Virginia Dawson Bessette
DOVER - Virginia Dawson Bessette of Dover passed away suddenly Monday April 21, 2014 at home. She was 76. Mrs. Bessette was born February 16, 1938 in Federalsburg, Maryland to the late John Otis Dawson and Blanche Wharton Dawson. She worked as a secretary for Custom Décor in Dover for 20 years and had worked for Emerson Real Estate for ten years as a secretary. Mrs. Bessette loved the Lord and spreading the Lords Gospel. She enjoyed sewing, decorating and creating a comfortable home. Mrs. Bessette was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Dover. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, David O. Dawson, 1967. Mrs. Bessette is survived by her daughter, Dawn Leigh Bessette of Dover; sisters, Anita Davis and her husband Harland of Picston, Md. and Robin Good of Cambridge, Md.; brothers in Christ, Tom Williams; and sister in Christ, Mary Pusey. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road Rt. 10), Dover. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901.
