Billy Bass

William B. Bass ?Billy?, 91, of Cross City, Florida passed away May 13, 2025. He was born October 19, 1933, to the late Horace and Pearl Neeley Bass in Jasper, Florida, and has lived in the Cross City area for the past 61 years.
Mr. Bass was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the State of Florida as a Corrections Officer in Cross City for 22 years; Dixie County Sheriff?s Jail for ten years; and worked for Stanley at Food Land as his right-hand man. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, Cross City, for 31 years, serving as a Deacon for 27 years.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Ann Stevenson Bass; sons, Don Bass and Jeff Bass (Kerry); daughter, Lynn Santini (Gene); 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Bass.
Funeral services for Mr. Bass will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Cross City Chapel, with Pastor Cecil Pinner officiating. Interment will follow in Cross City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
