      81, Indianapolis, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013.
      He was born June 9, 1932 in Indianapolis to David Owen and Alpha P. (Bassett) Burton. He married Cecilia Fogarty on October 30, 1954 in Indianapolis. She survives. Survivors include one son, Steven Michael (Annette) Burton of Indianapolis; four daughters, Theresa Lee Slipher of Indianapolis, Kathleen Louise (Mark) Walden of Carmel, Jennifer Ann (Val) Swift of Fishers, and Andrea Cecile (Joseph) Frollo of Fishers; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death his parents; brother, David A. Burton; and a sister, Jean Delzell.

      Jerry grew up attending IPS #66 Charles Colburn, and graduated from Shortridge High School in 1950. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from Indiana University.

      He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving from 1956-1959, and was active with U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1964-1978.

      Jerry spent his career as a self employed attorney.

      He was a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge #398 F. & a.m.., Murat Shrine, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite and was a 33rd degree Mason.
      Jerry was a long time member and Past President of the North East Sertoma Club, National Sojourners Chapeter #006, Mud Creek Players, and American Legion Post #34. He was a member of both the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar Association.

      He was a member of the Board of Directors of Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory since 1971.

      Calling will take place from 4-8 p.m., Monday, at the Washington Park East Celebration Life Center, 10612 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, where a Masonic Service will take place at 7:30 p.m.

      Rev. George Jackson will officiate a funeral service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Washington Park East Celebration Life Center. Burial with military honors will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
