Anna Partin Bass, 89, of Queen Anne Dr. Edenton, NC, peacefully entered the presence of her Savior on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.Born on November 28, 1936 and raised to be a devoted woman of faith, Anna spent her entire life truly being the hands and feet of Jesus. She did not just read the Scripture; she lived it every single day through her quiet humility, overwhelming generosity, and boundless love for others. Whether she was singing in the church choir for 60 years, making a career out of serving others as a nurse for 27 years, baking bread for the sick or for church communion, volunteering at the hospital, cooking meals for her family, mentoring through Al-Anon, serving through the American Red Cross, or offering a fervent prayer for someone in need, her hands were always busy serving and her feet w??ere always ready to move toward those who were hurting. She possessed a rare, selfless heart that saw the dignity in every person and made everyone feel like family. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Billie Goodwin Partin, an infant daughter, step-mother Mary Partin and step-sister Annette Cedeno. ?Nana? was her favorite title and her legacy of service will live on through her husband of over 69 years, Thomas Carroll ?Tom? Bass, Sr.; daughter, Barbara Jo ?BJ? Bass, son, Thomas Carroll ?Tommy? Bass, Jr. and wife Jamie; 5 grandchildren, Ashlie Nixon (Chad), Ryne Bass, Meredith Parker (Jason), Anna Bass, and Jonathan Bass, and 6 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Graham, and Garrett Monds, Taylor Matthews, Tyler Bass, and Bryson Parker. A celebration of her life and Christ?s faithfulness will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Edenton Baptist Church in Edenton, NC where she was a member. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to The Edenton Baptist Church Music fund, continuing her lifelong mission of service. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for their love and compassion over the past year.
