Sandra Kay (Bass) Rehmeier
Sandra Kay (Bass) Rehmeier, 65, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Sandy was born and raised in Saint Louis, Mo. where she graduated from Ritenour High School in 1979, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader.
During the 1980s, she worked for the Mis-I souri State Highway Patrol, Southwestern Bell, and Spirit of Saint Louis Airport. It was at the Patrol where she met the love of her life and husband for 39 years, Richard Rehmeier. After the birth of their first child, Thomas, they relocated to Jefferson City where they welcomed the birth of Brandy, Taylor and DJ. After her husband's retirement from the Highway Patrol, they purchased Bob's Guns and operated the store together for over 28 years. Sandy was an avid and accomplished bowler, frequently achieving the league high average and league championships while serving as the secretary/treasurer for over three decades. She professionally baked magnificent cakes for all occasions and was exceptionally talented with wedding cakes. She also enjoyed reading true crime and mystery novels, crocheting blankets for grandbabies, and all things cats.
If you asked her, she would happily tell you that her greatest interest and accomplishments in life were her four children whom she raised as a stay-at-home mother. She could always be heard cheering from the front row at their competitions after driving them all over the state for practices and tournaments. In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her sister, Debbie Milligan; her brother, Donald (Bray) Bass; and her children, Thomas (Katie) Rehmeier, Brandy (Eric) Schaefer, Taylor (Jennifer) Rehmeier, and DJ (Ashley) Rehmeier. Sandy was also the proud grandmother of Alexander, Calvin, Alliyah, Olive, Charlotte, and Madeline.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Caden, as well as her mother, Marilyn Bass, who was truly her best friend and companion with whom she will now be reunited in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg White officiating.
Committal service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) or the Shriners Hospital For Children.
