Jee Brantly officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom Harmon. Interment was in the Salem cemetery with Ott & Lee Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Bassett passed away at her home in Hattiesburg, after a short illness. She was a member of the Eastabutchie Baptist Church. Mrs. Bassett had lived in Forest up until a few years ago. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Marion Stewart, Rt. 5, Hattiesburg, Mrs. Mary Reynolds, Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Olis Williamson Jackson, and Mrs. Mildred Sharp, Madden, nine grandchildren, one brother, Ray Nichols, of Forest. Pallbearers: Milton Sharp, Clyde Walter, J.C. Jenkins, Roger Burns, Cleveland Shaw, and Otho Putnam.
