Leona B. Burrell
Leona B. Burrell was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday April 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, William B. and Catherine J. Bassett; and brother, William S. Bassett. She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Catherine Farley (Scott); her grandchildren, Liam V and Cailin Hope; her brother, Richard Bassett; her sister-in-law, Olivette Bassett; her nieces, Andre'a and Alethia Bassett; and a host of family members and friends.
Leona was a dedicated church member and attended Mount Calvary SDA and loved the Lord Jesus Christ, always sharing her faith with others. Leona worked for Virginia Power for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, writing, puzzles, playing the piano and singing. She also enjoyed watching old TV shows.
Leona will be missed by all that knew her, as she never knew a stranger and loved to talk. We are comforted to know that we will see her again.
The funeral will be at 1pm Saturday April 9th 2022 at Nelsen Funeral Home on 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd in Williamsburg with visitation beforehand at 11am. Interment will be Monday April 11th at 10am at Williamsburg Memorial Park. Online condolences may be shared at www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
