He was a native of Chester County, son of the late John Joe Bass and Dora Killian Bass. Mr. Bass had operated the Bass grocery store on York Road for a number of years until the time of his death, and was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He was married to Miss Carrie Feaster, who survives, along with the following children: five sons, Jesse, J.T. and Robert Bass, all of Chester, Wylie Bass of Carlisle and Lewis Bass of Eldorado, Ark.; four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Nieworshi of Chester, Mrs. Frances Wilson of Tripoli, Africa, Mrs. Henry Sistrunk of Union, and Miss Dolly Bass of Chester; a number of grandchileren and one brother, Henry Bass of Hersberg, Ala. Funeral plans are incomplete.
