Clifton ?Pete? Bass
Funeral services for Mr. Clifton ?Pete? Bass, 83, of St. Joseph was held at Maryland Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Kelly Wayne Clark officiating. Interment followed at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Yong?s Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Bass died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Franklin County Hospital in Meadville. He was a resident of St. Joseph, a retired farmer and a member of the Maryland Baptist Church. Mr. Bass served in the United States Army in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Monroe and Lula Patt Bass; two brothers, Willie ?Peg? Bass and John R. Bass.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Inez Maza Bass; two sons, James Clifton Bass Jr., and Royce Allen Bass of St. Joseph; three daughters, Nita Inez Moore of Start, Remona Gail Bass and Karen Marie Harrison of St. Joseph; three sisters, Girley Sanderson, Donnis Duncan of St. Joseph and Sally Arcuri of New Orleans. He was also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Chris Bass, Larry Perkins, James Arceneaux, Ricky Jones, Clay Hale and Danny Strahan.

Clifton Bass
ST. JOSEPH ? Clifton Bass, a retired farmer, died Sunday. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maryland Baptist Church under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Burial will be in Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
