Frances Bass English
ROCKY MOUNT - Frances Bass English, daughter of the late Eugene and Leuberta Sampson Bass, was born Dec. 28, 1928. On Tuesday, July 5, 2011, she departed this life on earth to be with her Almighty and Heavenly Father. She was born in Durham. She was a resident of Farmville for almost 30 years and attended Progressive F.W.B. Church. After moving to Rocky Mount, she attended Greater Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. As an active senior, she was also affiliated with the Lion's Club.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Ronald Waller, Harry Waller Jr., Bill Johnson; and a grandson, Ja Quan Waller.
She leaves to cherish a devoted and dedicated husband, John English of the home; six daughters, Doris J. Del-Toro and husband, Jose, of Germantown, Md., Joan Johnson, Winifred Waller, Jo-Ann Waller, Sandra May and husband, Jimmy, Carolyn Waller, all of Greenville; two sons, Curtis Waller and James Johnson of Greenville; a loving stepmother, Rosa Bass; four sisters, Joyce Barbee, Carolyn Grayson, Barbara Davis, and Cleopatra Scott Davis; two brothers, Harold Bass and Kent Bass, all of Capital Heights, Md.; 30 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The service is Saturday with viewing at 1 p.m. and service at 2 p.m. at Salvation and Praise Full Gospel Church, 9243 West Marlboro Road, Farmville.
Arrangements will be by Horne's Funeral Home of Farmville.
