He was a humble man with a heart of gold. He was a retired electrician at Ford, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam era, a member of UAW I.B.E.W. and a member of Northeast Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bass; two sons, Robert Chapman and Stephen Bass; one daughter, Stacey Nall; two brothers, George Wesley Bass and Clifford Edward Bass; and three grandchildren, Brantley, Tyler and Mason. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Evergreen Funeral Home, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Cabbage Patch Settlement House.
