  Notes	LPJ, 26 April 1888 Michael Bass who died in this city, Sunday, the 15th inst., was born at Bayton, Germany, March 24, 1818, and emigrated to his country in 1831, landing at New Orleans. From there he went to Louisville, Ky., where, in August, 1839, he took out naturalization papers in the court of that place. He married there and came to Louisiana in the spring of 1846, where he resided up to the time of his death. Four children were the result of this union ? Michael, Edawrd, Andrew and Jennie,k who survive him. Unknown paper John Michael Bass, aged 70 years, died in this city, Sunday morning, of pneumonia. The deceased had been a resident of this city for many years.
