William Leonard Bassett

Bill Bassett, 82, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 26, 2022 after a short Illness. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend to all and a member of the First Christian Church.
William Leonard Bassett was a resident Northfolk, WV and of Bluefield WV. He is preceded in death by his Father Charles Leonard Bassett, Mother Gladys Mae Bassett, two sisters, Charlene Bassett and Peggy Marchand, and a beloved Son Doctor Steven O'Saile. Also, his fur baby Amber
He is survived by wife Carolyn O'Saile Bassett. Son Charles William Bassett (Lora) of Concord, NC and Daughter LaDonna Gail Moore (John) of Outer Banks, NC. Also, Daughter in law Toni O'Saile. Five Grandsons Grayson, Brady, K.J. (Ellie), BJ (Kaylea) and Alex. Granddaughter Sydney and Great Grandson Finn. Also, his fur baby Hurley
Bill worked for Kroger's 44 years. He was a member of the Elks for 48 years, avid fisherman and dedicated WV Mountaineers fan.
Receiving of friends will be Wednesday June 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV and the Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church 2200 Bland Rd. On June 30th at 11:00 AM. There will be an interment for family at Woodlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
