Frank William Bassett
Deacon Frank William Bassett – Born March 2, 1909, Washington County, AL, and a resident of Spanish Fort, AL for the past 50 years, departed this life on Sunday, August 25, 1991 at a local hospital. He was ordained as a deacon on October 19, 1986, and served faithfully at the Mount Ald Baptist Church. He is survived by a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Joan Bassett of Spanish Fort; four sons, Ivra L. (Diane) Bassett of Columbus, OH, Frank W. (Patricia) Bassett and Willie L. (Linda) Bassett, both of Montgomery, AL, and Gene (Earlene) Bassett; four daughters, Ms. Rebecca Bassett of Montgomery, Mrs. Rachel (Larry) Tinsley of Sylacauga, AL, Mrs. Mildred Smith of St. Louis, MI, Mrs. Mary Jeanette Rhone; one sister, Mrs. Mamie Seats; and one brother, Mr. Nathaniel Bassett, both of Mobile; 19 grandchildren, two reared by Deacon & Mrs. Bassett, Andrea and Ida Bassett; 11 great grandchildren; a hot of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, several devoted friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 29, 1991 after 5 pm from the Mount Ald Baptist Church, Spanish Fort, AL. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 30, 1991, at 11 am from the church, with Reverend Boogus, officiating minister. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Azalea Funeral Home, 352 State St., Mobile, AL.
