  Notes	The Virginian-Pilot, Norfolk, Virginia, Friday, 10 May 1963 Mrs. Ethel Barnak PORTSMOUTH ? Mrs. Ethel Bell Bass Barnak, 54, died Thursday at 9:05 p.m. in a hospital. A native of Norfolk County, she lived in the Bowers Hill section most of her life. She was a member of Bowers Hill Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Clarence and Mrs. Fannie Brazzell Bass and the wife of John Frank Barnak. Besides her husband, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. A.R. Dietz and Miss Betty Jean Barnak of Bowers Hill; four sons, Leslie M. Barnak of Portsmouth and James A. Barnak, Joseph Douglas Barnak and William Godfrey Barnak of Bowers Hill; four sisters, Mrs. H.P. Weatherly of Chesapeake and Mrs. J.E. Wright, Mrs. J.A. Bailey and Mrs. L.C. Koziol of Portsmouth; and seven grandchildren. The body was taken to Snellings Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Bowers Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. J. Dale Canterbury. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
