Vaughty Marie Bass
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Vaughty Marie Bass, 87, died Nov. 15, 1996, in her home.
She was a native of Asheville, N.C., and was a devout mother of the Azalea Garden Church of God. She was the widow of the late Robert B. Bass. She was predeceased by her loving sons, Jack and Bobby Bass, and a daughter, Joann Bass. Survivors include her son, Loyce B. Bass of Oregon; two daughters, Sarah Patterson of Virginia Beach and Barbara Pawlus of Chesapeake; and a sister, Ruth Einolander of California.
She is survived by nine grandchildren, Linda Myers, Kathy Reynolds and Jack Bass Jr., Mark Henson, Steve Henson, Connie Bass, Bobby Bass, Gregory Patterson, Kim Holt; and a total of 15 great-grandchildren who all loved her very much.
Services are being coordinated through Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. The family will receive friends there from 7 to 8 p.m. today and Sunday. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Azalea Garden Church of God, Beamon Road, Norfolk. Her resting place service will take place following the church service in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach.
