William E. Bass
KIRKWOOD ? William E. Bass, 70, Kirkwood, died Monday at 5:25 a.m. in St. Mary?s Hospital Galesburg.
He was born in Little York on Jan. 13, 1918. He married Kathleen Kitterman in Clayton, Mo., in October 1938. He married Drusella ?Sandy? VanGeffen in New Hampshire on Nov. 26, 1963.
Surviving are seven sons, Gary Bass and William Bass jr., both of Monmouth, John Bass, Kirkwood, Tracey Bass, Flagstaff, Ariz., and Chris Bass, Bobbie Bass and Eddie Bass, all of New Jersey; two daughters, Barbara Schisler, Smithshire, and Sharon Jones, Steele, Mo.; one brother, Leo Bass, Birmingham, Iowa, one sister, Audrey Stevens, Roseville, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was reared and educated in the Carman and Biggsville areas. He was a plumber and electrical contractor in the Kirkwood and Monmouth areas. He had worked at Birdsell?s Appliance, Kirkwood.
Funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Turnbull Funeral Home, Monmouth, with the Rev. Bruce Bolin Ghitalla officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday and Thursday until the service; the family will be present Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery near Kirkwood.
A memorial fund has been established; contributions may be left at the funeral home, the family said.
