Roland F. Bassett, Concord World War II veteran worked at Brezner Tannery
Roland F. Bassett, 83, of Concord died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.
Born in Grafton, the son of William and Marion (Fanny) Bassett, he lived in the Penacook-Concord-Boscawen area most of his life.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He worked at the former Eagle Rock Wool Co. in Concord and also at the former Brezner Tannery and Vet's Market, both in Penacook. He was also employed as an engineering technician for the state of New Hampshire for more than 35 years.
Roland loved to golf and fish.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as by his sister, Fabiola Standish of Massachusetts.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Minnie (Blodgett) Bassett of Concord; his sister, Eva Hutchinson of Concord; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will not be held.
Burial will be held privately at Woodlaw Cemetery in Penacook.
Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home in Penacook is in charge of the arrangements.
