First I direct that my body be decently interred and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life and as to such worldly estate as it has pleased God to entrust me with, I dispose of the same in the following manner to wit, direct first that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my death as possible out of the first money that shall come to the hands of my Executors from any portion of my estate. I direct that my land in Indiana be sold when and on such terms as my Executor shall think best for the benefit of my children and the money be kept at interest and all other moneys be put at in interest for the benefit of my children and wife if she needs it for her maintenance. My Executor is to sell at public or private sale as he may think best all of my personal property that is not wanted by me beloved wife for the use of the farm and the money to be put at interest and to be used by me wife as she may need it for the support of herself or children and she is to have the sole control of the home farm for her maintenance and the maintenance and raising of the children so long as she remains my widow, but at her death or marriage, then said home farm is to be divided between my six children to wit: Newton T. Bassett, Thomas A. Bassett, Helena V. Bassett, Margaret A. Bassett, Horace G.
