Vaughn Autry Bass
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vaughn Bass Sr, loving father, cherished grandfather, and pillar of his community. Vaughn departed from this world on January 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and unwavering love.
Born in Gallia County, OH on September 10, 1937, Vaughn was the beloved son of Muedella West and Pearl Bass Sr. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robin Clodfelter and Pearl Bass Jr. Vaughn's memory lives on through his children: Teresa Bass, Chyrise Brown, Leisa Allender, Vernard Bass, David Allender (Bass), and Vaughn Bass Jr.
Vaughn's life was a testament to his deep-rooted faith in God and his commitment to serving others. After answering the call of duty, Vaughn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for five years, embodying the values of honor, integrity, and sacrifice.
Following his military service, Vaughn embarked on a distinguished career as a barber, a profession he pursued with passion and dedication for over 50 years. His barbershop was not just a place for haircuts; it was a sanctuary of friendship, laughter, and wise counsel. Vaughn touched the lives of countless individuals with his skilled hands and compassionate heart.
In addition to his professional achievements, Vaughn was a devoted follower of Christ, whose faith was the cornerstone of his life. He found strength and solace in prayer, and his unwavering trust in God's plan was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
Vaughn was a loving grandfather to Arthur Saunders, Keith Bass, Michael Bass (deceased), Autry Tilly, Tayhana Fields, Tyisha Fields, Cameron Fields, Tashayla Greveni, Tasmaneh Brown, Anthony Allender, Monique Patrick, Danielle Edwards, Damon Edwards, Taryn Bass, Abby Lutz, Nikia Allender, Jonathan Johnson, Dianesty Johnson, Janise Bass, and Vaughn Bass III.
Vaughn's life was a beacon of light in a world often overshadowed by darkness. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he enriched.
Vaughn Bass Sr's earthly journey may have come to an end, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that his life of faith, service, and love has left a deeply rooted mark on the world. Amen!

Michael Antonio Bass
Michael Antonio Bass, 33 years old, of Columbus, OH, passed away in his home on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Born March 20, 1983, he was a graduate of West High School. He was an owner/operator of Vanguard Cleaning Systems. He was a loving and devoted father; he put everyone before himself, as he was very caring and considerate of others. His kind-hearted spirit was felt immediately when you where in his presence; his smile would light up the room. He is preceded in death by his sister Michelle Bradley, [paternal] grandmother, Mattie Wilkey. He is survived by his son, Anthony Bass; mother, Teresa Bass; father, Michael Saunders; brothers, Arthur Saunders, Keith Bass; [maternal] grandmother, Sherlene Bass; [maternal] grandfather, Vaughn Bass Sr.; Rubin Wilson; uncles, Vaughn Bass Jr. (Tamera), David Allender, Vernard Bass, Vincent Wilson (Fran), Pete Wilson, Demarco Wilson; aunts, Leisa Allender, Charisse Bass, Robin Braxton, Gail Saunders, Geraldine Chandler, Joy Taylor. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom he considered to be family survive him as well. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Lighthouse Ministries, located on 2295 S. High St., Columbus, OH, 43207. Friends and family will be received from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The celebration service will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. Flowers may be sent to the church on Friday, September 16, between the hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
