Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Beauregard-Vernon, Leesville. Mrs. Monk, 67, of Hicks, died at 5:01 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 1994, in Byrd Regional Hospital, Leesville. She was a native of Orange, Texas and a housewife. Survivors include one son, William Bass Jr., of Glenmora; one daughter, Lucy Goodwin of Hicks; one brother, Raymond Lee Burch of Starks; five sisters, Ophelia Marshall of Johnson Bayou, Lucy Potwin of Fields, Sophia Landrey of Hackberry, and Siby Perkins and Matilda Stanleyk both of Starks; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of services today in the church.
