  Notes	Plattsburgh, Thursday, December 28, 1989 Mariam St. John CHICOPEE, Mass. – Mariam St. John, 70, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 1989 at her home. She was born in Chazy June 11, 1919, the daughter of Peter Bessette and the former Angeline Vansleet. She ran the Oasis Restaurant in Champlain and worked for the Anchorage Hotel in Rouses Point. She married Orville L. St. John, who died in 1962. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Chicopee and was a volunteer at the parish school. Survivors include two daughters, Valerie Cooney of Chicopee, Mass., and Diane Major of Springfield, Mass., three sons, Gary O. St. John of Arcadia, Fla., Charles B. and Peter N. St. John both of Springfield, Mass.; one sister, Jennie L. Hewson of Plattsburgh; 14 grandchildren, five grea-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial Mass Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Coopersville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Champlain at a later date. Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
