Newville - Thomas Aden Bassett Sr.
Newville - Thomas Aden Bassett Sr., 55, died Saturday at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Hicksville, Ohio, he was a maintenance worker at Nucor Fastener, St. Joe, for 11 1/2 years. He also worked at Freuhauf, Fort Wayne, for 22 years. Surviving are his wife, Shirley, Kay; three sons, Thomas Jr., Jonathan and Gerald, all of Newville; a daughter, Dawn Hankey of Newville; two sisters, Pauline DeBruyn of California and Geraldine Best of Texas; and eight grandchildren. Services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Newville United Methodist Church. Calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at H.E. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, Butler. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Newville. Thomas Aden Bassett Sr., 55, of Newville, died Saturday, Sept. 25, at Parkview Hospital. The Hicksville, Ohio, native was a retired matinenance worker at Freuhauf after 22 years. He was also employed a Nucor Fastener for 11 years. He was a member of National Skeet Shooting Association, Amateur Trap Shooting Association and St. Joe Valley Conservation Club. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; sons, Thomas Jr., Jonathon and Gerald, all of Newville; sisters, Pauline DeBruyn of California and Geraldine Best of Texas; and eight grandchildren. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Newville United Methodist Church, Newville. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at H.E. Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
