Evelyn ?Lyn? Eoff Bass

Evelyn Lyn Eoff Bass, 62, passed away at her home on Sept. 10, 2012. Lyn was born in Nashville on June 7, 1950, and was a lifelong resident of Tullahoma. She was loved and cherished by her many family members and countless friends and was known as Mommy Lyn to all children who knew her. Preceded in death by her father, James Clair Eoff Jr., and daughter, Evelyn Ashley Bass, she is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Alexander Paul Bass III; her three daughters, Claire Bobo, Lyndsay Bass and Whitney Newton; two sons-in-law, Andy Bobo and Cameron Newton; seven grandchildren, Madelyn, Alex, Sam and McLayne Bobo, Peyton and Preston Bell and Hudson Newton; her mother, Evelyn Eoff; her brother, James Clair Eoff III; and sister-in-law, Ann Eoff. Lyn graduated in 1968 from Tullahoma High School where she was very active in student government and a varsity cheerleader for football and basketball all four years. She was a Senior Superlative Best School Spirit, Girls State delegate, cheerleader captain, THS Pep Club president, class secretary and on the Homecoming Court. She was also involved in the THS Choir, history club, annual staff, sports staff and the THS Entertainers. She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, a Sigma Alpha Epsilon Little Sister of Minerva, an ROTC sponsor and a varsity cheerleader for both football and basketball. She was also president of the Dental Auxiliary for the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. Lyn was a devoted mother whose life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was a regular room mother, Brownie and Girl Scout leader, basketball, softball and competitive cheerleading coach. Lyns whole family was active at First United Methodist Church, where she was the HALO Choir director, a member of United Methodist Women, Vacation Bible School teacher and Bible study leader. Throughout her lifetime, Lyn supported numerous Christian ministries in an effort to continue spreading Gods word around the world. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Kilgore Funeral Home, and a Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Lyn Eoff Bass Fund at First United Methodist Church, 210 W. Lauderdale St., Tullahoma, Tenn. 37388.
