  Notes	Las Vegas Sun, Wednesday, 2 September 2009 Gene MacDonald Bassett Gene MacDonald Bassett died at home in Las Vegas on Aug. 20 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. A longtime Boulder City resident and graduate of Boulder City High School, she was born March 25, 1930, in Salt Lake City. She is survived by Dale Brockett, his three sons, Bruce and James (Frankie) of Las Vegas and Steve (Mary) of Juneau, Alaska. Their extended family gave Gene eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her son Richard Charles Bassett of Las Vegas and sister and brother-in-law, Gayle MacDonald and Paul Friedman of Marina del Rey, Calif., and Orcas Island, Wash. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Porter John Bassett, her daughter Teresa Ann Bassett and her son Robert Daniel Bassett. At Gene's request there will be no funeral. Friends might remember her by doing a kindness to others, or by contributing to their favorite charity in her name.
