Catherine Bassett, 74
Catherine (Cox) Bassett, 74, of 22 Riviera Drive, Enfield, Conn., formerly of Worcester, died yesterday in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, after a long battle with cancer. Her husband, Frank Bassett, died in 1980. She leaves a son, Jeffrey Bassett of Enfield; a daughter, Darlene Planck of Grand Isle, Vt. a brother, James Cox of Enfield; and a granddaughter. She was born in South Hero, Vt., daughter of James and Fannie (Lawrence) Cox, and lived many years in Worcester before moving to Enfield about 20 years ago. She graduated from a Worcester high school. Funeral services will be held Monday at a time to be announced in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 585 South St., Suffield, Conn. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in South Hero Cemetery in Vermont. Calling hours at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
