Funeral services will be held Sunday April 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Louin Baptist Church in Louin, MS. Burial will follow in Louin Cemetery. Bro. Kevin Parker and Bro. Hal Ethridge will officiate.

Mary Etta Chisholm Bassett, 101, of Louin, MS died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Jasper General Hospital in Bay Springs, MS. She was born Wednesday, December 29, 1915 in Ted, MS.
Ms. Bassett enjoyed life to its fullest. After retiring from Northern Electric, she made many unique quilts. She was also born with a green thumb, as evident with the variety of flowers in her yard. She never met a stranger, enjoying conversations with people wherever she may be.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 01, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in Bay Springs. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 02, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Louin Baptist Church in Louin, MS. Burial will follow in Louin Cemetery. Bro. Kevin Parker and Bro. Hal Ethridge will officiate. She is preceded in death by her: Husband - Joe B. Bassett, Son - Jerry Wayne Bassett; Parents - Albert G. Chisholm and Thelma Chisholm; Grandson - David Lee Bassett, and Aunt - Callie Murphy.
Survivors include her Son - Tommy Joe Bassett and wife Janell, Ashford, AL, Son - Danny Bassett and wife Faye, Louin, MS, Daughter - Mary Lynda Ford, Louin, MS,
Pallbearers will be Mark Bassett, Don Bassett, Kyle Ford,Tom Lewis, Mark Ishee, Harmon Roberts, Josh Aultman and Matthew Bassett.
