She was born Feb. 4, 1912, in Maries County, a daughter of Thomas O. and Mary Nelson Doyel. She was married Dec. 23, 1931, in Maries County, to Clyde Bassett, who preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of the Dixon area, she was a member of the Kenner Church of God near Dixon. Survivors include: four sons, Willis Bassett, Glenwood Springs, Colo., Robert Bassett Columbia, Arnold Bassett, Dixon, and Kenneth Bassett, St. Robert; one daughter, Marilyn Davis, Rolla; one sister, Opal Bassett, Rolla; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. One son, Sherriff Roy L. Bassett, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kenner Church of God. Paul Smith and Ed Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Kenner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Long Funeral Home, Dixon. Memorials are suggested to the Kenner Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
