Burial will follow at the McKnight Cemetery in Cushing. Mrs. Collins died Saturday, January 9 in Arkansas. She was born April 6, 1951, in Cushing, Texas, to the late Thurman and Beatrice Wilkerson Bass. Gayla loved sewing and interior decorating. She attended the First Pentecostal Church in Gravel Ridge, Arkansas. Survivors include husband, Tom Collins, Jacksonville, Texas; sons and daughter-in-laws, Nathan and Celeste Slatter, Huntsville, Texas, and Adam and Tara Slatter, Lovelady, Texas; brother, Glen Bass, Nacogdoches, Texas; sisters, Nelwyn Rawlinson, Cushing, Texas, and Rita Suber, Shreveport, Louisiana; and grandchildren, Nataleigh, Kendall, Toni and Corbin. Visitation will be held Tuesday before the service at the funeral home in Cushing. Dickie Allen Funeral Home, Cushing.
