Mary E. ?Bettie? Banghart (Picture included)
Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" Banghart, 89, of Franklin Township, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Abington Manor in Easton, PA. She was born on April 15, 1928, in Easton, PA. She spent most of her life in Franklin Township, moving from Easton, PA, where she spent her childhood. She was the daughter of the late Albert E. Hunt Sr. and Mary Bassett Hunt. Bettie was a retired court aide for the Warren County Superior Court in Belvidere, NJ. Memberships include Warren Grange 110, the Red Hat Society, Order of the Eastern Star Stewart Chapter No. 166, and First Lutheran Church of Stewartsville. Bettie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She loved to make things for her family and friends and also enjoyed donating hats that she would make for cancer patients. She had a wonderful sense of humor and had a quick wit about her. Bettie had a wonderful memory for special occasions - she always remembering everyone's birthday and anniversary. Bettie was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her five children, Joseph Banghart Jr. of Washington, NJ, Gary Banghart and his wife, Lynn, of Bangor, PA, Diane Bevaqua and her husband, Arthur, of Bakersfield, CA, George Banghart and his wife, Susan, of Asbury, NJ, and Susan Demo of Netcong, NJ; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Albert 'Bill' Hunt and his wife, Francis, who both passed away on Aug. 3, 2017. She was also predeceased by her ex-husband, Joseph Banghart, who passed away on Jan. 25, 2010. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery in Stewartsville, NJ. Arrangements by Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
